Everyone starts somewhere
The journey from a colony to a community is one that we are all on, but we start from different places. We recommend starting with listening and learning, so we are providing information, resources, and opportunities to join with others to find our way together.
It’s not the easiest path – start wherever you think you will feel most comfortable!
Step 1: This website provides ways to listen and learn through online resources before you decide how you want to be involved. You can also see our archive of action from the first year – Project 108 is a collection of 108 actions and observations that mark positive change.
Step 2: Join our weekly events mailing list to find more opportunities to listen and learn with others. Start by completing our new participant form so that we know where you’d like to lend a hand.
Step 3: Join in Sheet’ka’ Decolonization Dialogue. We meet on the first Monday of the month from September to July. At these meetings we share food and discussion, and learn from each other. During the summer months we turn our attention to learning directly from the land.
Step 4: Broaden your knowledge of this special place by getting to know people from outside your usual circles. We also work with other groups in our community to provide support wherever it is needed. See the list of organizations that we work with and support.
Step 5: Keep listening, learning, and lending a hand to all of your neighbors and all of our relations!
